HeatlhConnections International was founded in 1996 by Sheila Murray who has over 30 years of health care recruitment experience.  This experience covers progressively responsible experience in staffing companies, acute care hospitals and contract rehabilitation company.  Her expertise includes foreign and domestic direct placement of Allied Health professionals assisting them with appropriate licensing/registration and immigration to and from foreign countries.    Since the beginning, Sheila's philosophy has been that the "door swing both ways" in sending Americans to work abroad and to bring internationally trained workers into the U.S.  Her mission now is to creat a more equitable flow of health care workers around the world in places that need them most as regular full time employees not volunteers.  Candidates make a full committment to integrate into a community and participate in providing health care services as locals would.

Sheila has presented workshops and teleseminars on Recruitment Marketing to the NHS in the UK and Northern Ireland and seminars to students in the U.S. on what it takes to work in a foreign country.  She was part of a panel in Geneva, Switzerland sponsored in part by the WHO on the Migration of Health Care Workers presenting "Methods of Recruitment for the Health Care Professional".

Sheila is a member of the Global Health Workforce Alliance hosted by the World Health Organization.  She holds a degree in Psychology from Boston College.
